How to Correctly Select the Beneficiation Process

Before the ore beneficiation process, the beginning stage of the test work is the most difficult. The research on the composition characteristics of the ore materials can help experimenters faster and more safely choose the beneficiation method and process. At the start of the study in the laboratory stage, it is best to adopt the effective methods in industrial production. When the sorting indicators are not satisfying, it is worth the potential of new technology to develop applications.

The first step for processing the ore is the crushing process, grinding process and the related sieving and grading operations. For most of the ore, the purpose for crushing and grinding is to achieve the dissociation of the mineral particles monomer. If the ore needs to be finely ground, any conventional method or process can be used to crush the samples into the feeding size of the laboratory grinding machine. Conversely, if the mineral ore gathers sufficient amount of particles with coarse particle size, the gravity concentration is very necessary. The crushing and grinding processes should adapt to the sorting process. In addition, the over crushing phenomenon should be avoided. 

If the useful mineral particles are too coarse and there is great density difference compared with the gangue, you should firstly consider the gravity concentration. The most commonly used gravity concentration equipment is the heavy media beneficiation machine, jigger and the shaker. Only some sand deposits may use the long chute centrifugal concentrator, the cross-flow belt chute and other fine gravity concentration equipments. The entire process is based on the gravity concentration. In addition, in order to reduce the influence of the particle size and choose different devices according to the different granularity, the grading operation is very necessary before the gravity concentration. 

Flotation can be seen as a universal principle. Almost all industrial minerals can be recovered by flotation. The separation efficiency for the symbiotic mineral is also not comparable. For the ores which are difficult to depend on the gravity concentration, the flotation test should be arranged. The scope of application of magnetic separation is very easy to make a clear judgment according to the magnetism of the minerals and the magnetic tape granularity. For example, the wet weak magnetic field magnetic separation method is mainly used for the recovery of magnetite and the pyrrhotite.
